2011 saw a huge growth in the number of internet-based start ups. From social networking to business consultation to fashion, all these start-ups had two things in common: they were wildly successful and have owner entrepreneurs younger than 30.
Among these start-ups are such well-known companies as DropBox and Instagram, which was recently purchased by Facebook for a whopping $1 billion. Not to shabby for a pair of twenty-somethings with only four employees.
This also points to another interesting aspect of these top ten entrepreneurs of 2011. None of them has more than 1,000 employees, with Freshii leading the pack at just 500. This just goes to show that a think tank can demonstrate exceptional prowess with only a few well-toned minds.
All of these entrepreneurs have revenue estimated in the millions, which is backed by internationally-known investors. Some of these investors include Spark Capital, Accel Partners and more.
